Walmart is adding more states to its drone delivery service,Walmart has been testing a drone delivery program in different parts of the US for almost two years. However, the company says it’s ready to add more services to that list. The store plans to add 34 sites to its DroneUp network by the end of the year. With the expansion, the retailer will be able to send packages to about 4 million more homes in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. In addition, you can order up to 10 pounds of groceries and household items for a $4 delivery fee. If you use the service, Walmart says that you can get your package in “as few as” 30 minutes.

By the end of 2022, Walmart thinks that it will be able to send 1 million packages by air every year. Even though it’s a big deal, it doesn’t sound like the program is making money just yet. The store says it will offer drone services to businesses and government agencies in the area. As just one example, Walmart says that construction companies could use drones to take photos of a single job site. The company said, “Not only will the extra money help cover the cost of delivery, but it will also help the whole drone industry by giving us more flight data as we work together to grow drone operations in a safe and regulated way.”

Walmart won’t be the only business with a drone delivery service in Texas. Alphabet’s Wing division has recently added the Dallas-Fort Worth area to its program.
