The president of DC Films says that Amber Heard and Jason Momoa didn’t have natural “chemistry” in “Aquaman.”

Amber Heard and Jason Momoa, The head of DC Films, which made “Aquaman,” testified that the creative team was worried about Amber Heard’s role in the sequel because she didn’t get along well with Jason Momoa.

Walter Hamada, the President of DC Films, a division of Warner Bros., gave a recorded deposition in March. On Tuesday, that deposition was played for the jury in the trial between Heard and her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

Hamada said in court that “Aquaman” was the most successful movie the company had ever made. However, he said that the studio never planned for Heard to be a co-lead in “Aquaman 2” and that Heard’s role in the next movie, “Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom,” has not been cut.

“The size of her role in the movie was decided when the script was first being written, which I think would have been in 2018. The character’s role in the story was pretty much the same from the start. “In the deposition, Hamada gave a statement. “Even when the script was still being written, the movie was built around the characters of Arthur and Orm. Arthur being Jason Momoa and Orm being Patrick Wilson. They were always the movie’s main characters.”

Depp has sued Heard for $50 million over an opinion piece she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018. The actor says that the piece hurt his reputation and caused him to lose work. Heard is suing Depp for $100 million because his lawyer called her claims that Depp abused her a “hoax.” She says that this hurt her reputation and cost her work.

Heard said in court that she thinks her role in “Aquaman 2” was cut down and that she had to fight to be in the movie at all. “Aquaman 2” is still in post-production and won’t come out until 2023. Warner Bros. Discovery is made up of CNN and Warner Bros.

But in his deposition, Hamada said that after filming “Aquaman,” there was talk about what role Heard would play in a sequel.

“I think editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie, but there was concern that it took a lot of work to get there, and we wondered if it would be better to recast, find someone who had better, more natural chemistry with Jason Momoa, and move forward that way,” Hamada said in court.

Hamada said in court that the two actors seemed to get along well in “Aquaman,” but that the film used the “magic of post-production,” such as editing, sound design, and music, to “fake” their chemistry.
“It’s like asking what makes a movie star a movie star. When you see it, you’ll know it.

And there wasn’t any spark, “In the deposition, Hamada said that. “A good editor and a good director can choose the right takes and the right times to put scenes together. The music makes a big difference in the scene.”

Hamada also said that Heard’s role in the movie and her ability to re-negotiate her pay was not affected by her dispute with Depp or anything said by Depp’s representatives.
Heard’s lawyers rest their case.

The lawyers for Heard finished their case earlier on Tuesday.

This month, Heard testified over five days. Actress Ellen Barkin has been a witness for her side. Last week, jurors heard her recorded testimony. Barkin said that when she was having an affair with Depp in the 1990s, she saw him throw a wine bottle at a wall when they were fighting.

A request to get rid of Heard’s counterclaims against Depp was turned down on Tuesday.
On Tuesday afternoon, most of the witnesses Depp’s team brought up contradicted the testimony of witnesses Heard’s team had already brought up.

On Wednesday, Depp’s team is likely to continue presenting rebuttal witnesses. One of them could be Kate Moss, who used to be Depp’s girlfriend.

Former TMZ reporter Morgan Tremaine is also expected to testify. He is expected to talk about how the website got a video of Depp slamming cabinets and acting strangely. Several times, the video has been shown in court.

TMZ filed a motion to intervene in the case on Tuesday and asked the court to stop Tremaine from testifying. They said that Tremaine was a field assignment manager when the video was obtained and that he had “nothing to do” with TMZ getting the video from a confidential source. During his testimony, the news organization asked the court to stop Tremaine from “revealing TMZ’s confidential information” during his testimony.

“TMZ promised this source that it would keep their name and other information about them secret and not tell anyone else,” the filing says. “TMZ sometimes makes promises of privacy so that it can publish information that is in the public interest. To do this, it relies on the journalist’s privilege, which protects the identities of confidential sources.”

On Friday, the last arguments should be given.
